The Visual Gallery

The Visual Gallery Art Museum, previously lacking an online presence, embarked on a transformative journey to establish itself in the digital realm. With a comprehensive approach encompassing UX research, competitive analysis, and usability studies, I spearheaded the creation and design of a responsive website. This initiative aimed to not only elevate the museum's online visibility but also enhance visitor engagement by offering seamless visit scheduling capabilities.

Problem Statement

Picture yourself passing by a captivating art museum. Intrigued, you decide to explore more about it online, only to discover that it lacks a website. While a Google listing exists, there's no information on current exhibitions, and scheduling visits is not possible. You quickly give up and move on to another art museum that appears in the search results.

02

Goal

To craft a responsive website for the museum, enhancing its online presence and facilitating visitor engagement by allowing the ability to schedule visits.

03

Question

How might we design a user-friendly scheduling system on the museum's website to enhance visitor engagement and ensure a seamless online experience, while maintaining the museum's artistic essence and fostering a sense of accessibility and connection for diverse audiences?

04

Design Process

The creation of a responsive website for the Visual Gallery involved comprehensive research to understand the art museum landscape and audience demographics, addressing declining museum visits. Utilizing Figma, User Flows were created to map user interactions, guiding the development of low-fidelity wireframes for mobile and desktop platforms. A warm color palette, including vibrant orange and yellow tones, was chosen to evoke energy and creativity, complemented by soft pink for balance. Iterations were made based on usability studies, enhancing functionality and appearance by adjusting text readability, button size, and contrast, with specific attention to optimizing the ticket booking process.

Result

In developing the website for an art museum stepping into the online realm for the first time, I approached the project with the mindset of crafting a brand identity from scratch. My focus was on engaging diverse audiences while staying true to the museum's artistic essence. My objectives were clear: infuse the museum's digital debut with contemporary flair while maintaining a warm, human touch to foster accessibility and connection.

Users in the target audience expressed that the design exhibited an intuitive navigation experience, encompassed all necessary information, and boasted an aesthetically pleasing appearance. They shared that they would all like to go The Visual Gallery.
